Very thought provoking article. However, many areas of the country are not having a 16.4% decline and a large % of people who take out reverse mortgages still want to leave equity to their heirs. I'be been doing HECM's for about l0 years and am only aware of only one that let the lender sell the property and that was because heirs were in another part of country and didn't want to mess with selling the property and retaining the potential equity.
