It seems a little early this year, but today is Memorial Day — a day that will inevitably feature picnics, parades, the Indy 500 and sales at the mall. In the midst of good times it should be remembered that the purpose of this holiday is to honor those who have given their lives in military service.

You can learn a lot about our history by speaking with those who have served in the military and by thanking them for their service to our country.

Wikipedia has an excellent discussion of Memorial Day and its history, something to share with others.
